Great place for informal meal, mostly sandwiches, but very filling and tasty. Great Caribbean spice. A must try if you're in the north bay and in the mood for delicious Puerto Rican food.

This was my first time at this location and had only been to San Rafael. I placed an order a day ahead online so that after our Muir Woods visit, I could just pick up the food. Because I was at Muir Woods, I didn't get the voicemail from Sol telling me they were out of a dish I had ordered until later. When I picked up my order, a young man gave me the bag and had I not asked if that was it, he wouldn't have looked to see it was two bags. He also failed to tell me about the dish that wad missing. I didn't get the voicemail until after I left. I was disappointed with this oversight because I was depending on that dish to feed my kid. Otherwise, the food wad packed well for travel and it wasn't totally cold by the time we ate it (10 min after pick up). Everyone loved the ribs (costillas) and the sandwiches.

I absolutely love the bistec sandwich. It had the perfect amount of flavor. The steak was very tender and the dipping sauce that came on the side was perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The sweet plantains were also good and the side order gives you a good amount so you could split as a side with someone else. The location in Millvalley is just a to go location and there aren't many good places to eat right outside so just have a plan to either bring it home or go somewhere else to eat it.

Always Good Food!! I Miss Sol Food and I live in North Scottsdale, AZ now and Very Unlikely to ever return to California Sadly. From what I remember sol food was really good. Authentic Puerto Rican Fare... Full of flavor that is familiar to what you'd expect. Maybe one day I will go back for a Visit... hopefully sol food will still be there. Enjoy.

I eat here almost weekly - how could you not? Get the pollo sando add avocado, garlic plantains with cheese avocado and tomatoes, extra pink sauce, and a biztec sando. I eat half of each sando and save the rest for lunch the next day. Other great items are the 2 piece chicken, half chicken plate, shrimp plate, pink beans, the list goes on and on. P.S. The Pique sauce is amazing. I used to have my parents send me bottles of it when I was away at college.

Where have I been? This place is delicious! I came here after a hike at Muir Woods. Perfect post-hike takeout spot. It's in a plaza with plenty of parking out front and in the back. I believe they offer dine-in on occasion, but when we went (on a busy Saturday), it was takeout only. The only con is that there is not a single outdoor table, bench, or chair to sit and eat at in the plaza. I hope they change this. We brought picnic blankets and were able to post up on a small patch of grass by the parking lot. But the grass was wet, so I recommend a waterproof blanket. Also beware of bees! I got the highly rated Bistec sandwich which comes on a French roll, with thinly sliced steak, sautéed onions, avocado, pink mayo, Swiss cheese, and a side of red sauce. A small sandwich was $14.45 + tax but it was surprisingly big (large size is $19.95). I also got a small side of fries ($3.95) which also was quite large, so the portion sizes here are great! I'm not sure what the red sauce that comes on the side is made of, but it kind of tastes like a vinaigrette. Delicious on the sandwich! The meat and all the flavors work so well. But the sauce is very liquidy and drips through the sandwich, so expect a messy meal! If you like a saucy sandwich with sweet and savory flavors, this is for you! Overall, great food (and good customer service), despite the lack of seating. They have two other locations in San Rafael and Petaluma as well. I hope they come to SF!

We picked up a light lunch here this past Sunday, for takeout since there is no dine-in option available, no seating at all. Service was pretty standard, not the friendliest, but gave appropriate instructions about where and how to order, etc. There was a small line of customers going out the door, but it went by quickly. And the wait for our food wasn't too long either. We got the ensalada con pollo, with juicy and delicious baked chicken and fresh veggies. The lemon dressing didn't have much flavor, kind of just tasted like oil, but it was fine. The small sized salad was more than enough for one person. But I didn't finish cuz the salad was a bit dry, and I wasn't about to drench it in "oil". I did appreciate that they packed the warm chicken separately from the salad greens in our to-go bag. Overall a positive experience, and a good option to have for Puerto Rican cuisine.
